I am a horrible daughter and broke 2 .. yes.. 2 of my mother's Lancaster & Sandland dishes. I've been looking online all over and I've see The Jolly Drover but not in the dish (bowl/plate type thing) that I broke I'm beginning to think it doesn't exist. As well there's this other one where... "Micawber introduces David to London" in a plate. If you can help at all it would be GREATLY appreciated. The Jolly Dover was of sentimental value and I know it wouldn't be the same one.. but.. at least it'd be close. Thank you in advance.

I have now fully traced the Sandlands of south Lancashire and north Cheshire to the the Lichfield Sandlands and to John Sandland aged 34 in the 1690 Gregory census living near St. Chad's church in Lichfield. He is the only Sandland mentioned in the 1690 Lichfield census and hence the Sandlands had probably only recently arrived in Lichfield at this time. I believe that the migration of the Sandlands to Lichfield was probably in or shortly after the civil war. They were active in Wem before and during the civil war on the Roundhead side and there was movement of Roundhead armies between Wem, Shrewsbury and Lichfield at this time. The Great fire of Wem would have caused labour to leave Wem to seek work. Much labour was needed in Lichfield to repair the extensive damage caused in the civil war. John Sandland turns up living close to one of the Roundhead churches (St. Chads) in Lichfield just at this time.

I live in Towyn, North Wales and I'm 17 years old today 13/10/07. My father is Keith Sandland and lives in the midlands where he was born and bred. He moved into North Wales 18 years ago and after my mum and dad broke up he moved back to the midlands. He  has a brother called Fred and another brother who I'm not sure of the name. My grandfather was called Thomas and his wife was Rebecca. If any one is related to me please get in touch, it would be great to hear from you. I have a step brother called Steffan, and a step sister called Rebecca who also both live in the midlands. I live with my mum and two brothers called Gethin and Dylan. Take care.

I'm looking for information on my great grandfather Job Sherriff Sandland, born 1842 in Birmingham, baptised about 4 years later in London. He was very friendly with Major General Erskine Sandilands and we believe there is some family link.

Have very little information on family name but these brief details may provide the means for others to identify a 'missing link' in their family history. I was born 23rd February 1941  - father Herbert Sandland married Joyce Pollard.

I just wanted to enter my details in the hope that some of my family members might wish to contact me. My name is Keith Sandland. I and my sister Barbara are the offspring of Thomas Sandland of Rotherham, Yorkshire but who was born in Skipton around 1910. My paternal grandmother was Barbara Sandland of Park Lane Rotherham and my paternal grandfather, a schoolmaster and carpenter died at his own hand early in his married life. I know that I have (had?) uncles Con, Ken and David and a great aunt Alice whose husband had a mill just outside Whitby. I am listing these things blind as I have very little knowledge of my background but perhaps someone will fill in some blanks for me.

Hello, I purchased a QEII Coronation dish and on the back, besides the Sandland M.M. it is imprinted in intaligo, "Butter." What are the chances that this butter dish was intended for her actual Coronation Dinner?  Thank you!
