Message: Hi, I was looking for my family tree and have seen this site and have also noticed my uncle's details on here. My dad also came from the Wirral. I was born in South Africa in 1992 and now live in the south of England, I would be interested to know if there is any other Karen Sandland's out there, thanks.

Message: We are researching our family tree.  My grandmother's double cousin Alice Phillips married Fred Sandland in Birmingham.  In 1901 census they are living at 86 City Road, Birmingham, with children Fred, Reginald and Gladys (aged 6, 5 and 3). Fred and Alice are 42 and 36, Fred is manager, wire drawers. From a family notebook we know of other children Leslie, Gwen and Jack. Does anyone have a link to this Sandland family?

Message: My grandfather was Thomas Alfred Sandland & had a brother called Ernie Sandland. My grandfather married Gladys Evelyn Pitt. They lived in Bradly for a period of time, they also lived on Hardy Square in Bilston but spent their twilight years at 1 Ward Street, Ettingshall. Tom & Evelyn has 3 children, Eric, Joyce & Wendy. Eric still lives in the Merry Hill area of Wolverhampton with his wife Brenda. If any of this sounds familiar to anyone please drop me a line. Thanks.

From: Tony Street
Message: My father's cousin Robert Sandland (and his wife Ida) were unfortunately drowned in a boating accident in Poole harbour in 1952. They had a garage in Willenhall, Wolverhampton, and Roberts father Egbert was a lay preacher in the area. Does this side of the Sandlands mean anything to you.

From: Angela
Message: I was browsing the web for Sandland and came across the Sandland site. How odd! It's such an unusual name. Then I saw your posting. My dad was called Arthur Sandland and he was from Ellesmere Port, although he moved to Sunderland with his parents. I think he had twin brothers who died when they were small. His mum was called Georgina and I'm not sure what his dad was called. I know very little else about his family. I bet we're related somewhere down the line! Regards  Angela  (previously) Sandland.

From: Maureen Jager
Message: My children are Sandlands, for better or worse. They have all embellished the name as they are all successful, in their own right. Ralph is a Senior lecturer at the University of Nottingham, soon to be made Professor Sandland, all being well. Richard is at the RSC in Stratford and Deborah (Mary Anne), not hyphenated, is doing her own thing in Banbury. I am sorry to have lost contact with June and John (Hill) of Bidborough, Tunbridge Wells. June is the sister of my ex-husband John Sandland. I would really like to know how she is and any news of her and John would be much appreciated.

From: Rose Trumper
Message: I am looking for more information on my great grandfather, Job Sherriff Sandland, born Birmingham 1841. His baptism shows his parents as John and Sarah, but is believed to have been brought up by an uncle in Holborn. Links with Hatton Garden jewellers and William Sandland whom Sandland Street in Holborn was named after. Also linked with Major General Erskine Sandilands, whom a niece of Job referred to as "uncle". Can anyone help? Please e-mail.
