From: Stuart Robson
Message: I am trying to trace an element of my family that emigrated to Canada. My mother has a watch given to her by her father a James Keppie Sandilands with the following inscription "Presented to John Sandilands on the occasion of his leaving Loch Awe for Canada by his many friends at Loch Awe 27/3/1920" I think that John was my grandfather's uncle.
I know that John was born 31/3/1885 at Hartside, Channelkirk, Oxton, Scotland to an Alexander (Alex) Sandilands and Margaret Keppie (Keppy) who were married 19/12/1873 at Peastonbank, Ormiston, Scotland.

From: Gene Handy
Message: My wife, Carol Sandland, was born in Hackney, London on December 15, 1945. She lived at 58 Grange Park Road, E10 until she emigrated to the USA. We were married in the USA on August 17, 1974 and have two children, Victoria Goodspeed (6/21/78) and John Gerard (6/16/83). Carol's sister is Marion Sandland who married Mickey Sullivan from Walthamstow in 1954. She lives in the USA also. Carol's father was Sidney Sandland who was born in Lewisham in October,1907. He was one of several children, at least one brother, George lives in London. I believe my farther in law's farther was Reginald Sandland.
If you email me back, my wife will fill you in on more of the Sandland family she knows.
Marion lives in Yonkers New York and Carol and I live in Closter, NJ which is just outside NY City.

From: Keith Sandland
Message: I just wanted to enter my details in the hope that some of my family members might wish to contact me. My name is Keith Sandland. I am the son of Thomas Sandland of Rotherham, Yorkshire but who was born in Skipton around 1910. My paternal grandmother was Barbara Sandland of Park Lane Rotherham and my paternal grandfather, a schoolmaster and carpenter died at his own hand early in his married life. I know that I have (had?) uncles Con and David and a great aunt Alice whose husband had a mill just outside Whitby. I am listing these things blind as I have very little knowledge of my background but perhaps someone will fill in some blanks for me.

Hi Everyone! I am doing some research on our family tree and came across this site! I am from Plainville, Massachusetts but now live in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I, also, thought that the name was rare and it is nice to see that there are so many of us!
