Subject: Royal Engineers Drivers attached to 50th Div, 1940
Message: Can you help, looking for detail on my grandfather, Driver David Little Royal Engineers service no, 2005641. Served in WW2, enlisted at Ditchling Rd, Brighton, Fulford Barracks York for basic training. Fought and captured in N.Africa 1941? and taken to Camp 70 Monturano Italy, escaped there, recaptured and taken to Stalag 1VA Hohenstein. His CO was a solicitor in civvy street, Newcastle area before war he had a handlebar moustache! was also stationed at Kingwall Hall, Timsbury, something to do with Bomb Disposal in Bristol. Was friends with a guy called Bill Borroman. Do you know who I am talking about? Or anything I've mentioned? Any details of anything no matter how small please email me. Message: I was born in Moascar Egypt in 1948 and have no conscious memory of it since we left when the British were asked to leave in 1952.  My father was in the RAF till he died in 1957.  He was CO in Bomber Command, Wittering, Northants.  I have not been back to Egypt, although I will one day, but I cannot find Moascar on a map. Message: On Sept 5th, 2000 my Father William Fairly Metcalfe passed away. At this time I was told that I had a brother by the name of Ronald Malcolm Metcalfe. Ronald's mother (Mary Walker) met my Father in a place called Aldershot, during the Second World War. Mary worked for the NAAFI Canteen. The two fell in love and got married. However, after the war they returned to Canada but the marriage did not last and Mary took Ronald and went back to the UK. I believe that Mary's Father work for the England Police Force. I am Hoping that someone maybe able to help me find both of them. I pray every day to meet my half brother...

Message: Served 1956-59 as a short term regular ( joined up in Belfast ) basic training Blandford, trade training (VM) Norton Manor, Taunton. Spent most of my time with 19 Brigade HQ LAD in Colchester. I was there when it became 19th Ind Inf Bde. I had the honour of having the very first insignia ( Black Panther's Head) on my Landrover. I still have a copy of it that I stencilled on to a bit of plywood. It would be great if I could get in touch with anyone who remembers the HQ at Colchester, or anyone from 10 VDW REME at Marchington, near Uttoxeter from the same era.
